Dr. Loo began his medical training at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), India, where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2012. He later pursued postgraduate training in General Surgery and completed his Doctor of General Surgery at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2022.
His interest in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery led him to further develop his expertise through a Fellowship in Upper GI, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, which he completed in 2024.
Dr. Loo currently practises as a General & Bariatric Surgeon with the Upper GI and Metabolic Surgery Unit, Department of Surgery, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, UKM.
